Strengthening the governance capacity and financial management of the Azito Village community
Context
- The construction of a thermal power plant in Azito required the transfer of substantial financial resources to the village community in compensation for their initial provision of land.
- The IFC and Azito Energie are providing support to turn this opportunity for local development into a reality, improving social infrastructure, access to basic services and income-generating activities for the entire community.
Transformative approach
- Secure community resources (financial compensation and other income).
- Assess the financial management of village assets.
