Strengthening the governance capacity and financial management of the Azito Village community

Context

The construction of a thermal power plant in Azito required the transfer of substantial financial resources to the village community in compensation for their initial provision of land.
The IFC and Azito Energie are providing support to turn this opportunity for local development into a reality, improving social infrastructure, access to basic services and income-generating activities for the entire community.

Transformative approach

Secure community resources (financial compensation and other income).
Assess the financial management of village assets.
Strengthen community governance, raise awareness, and provide training in investment decision-making and financial management., sensibiliser, former à la prise de décision d’investissement et à la gestion financière.
Prepare and plan project implementation (prioritization, budgeting).
